Scoggins Residence

Scoggins-BeforeThis home was built in the mid-1980’s on a one-acre property north of Dallas.  It has a large, open-concept family and kitchen area, and all of the bedrooms have plenty of room.  The current owner wanted to update the kitchen and master suite, and add a game room near the kitchen for casual entertaining as well.  In the family room we relocated the fireplace to an inside wall which allowed us to bring more light into the space with French doors.  The ceiling in the kitchen was also raised, which made that space seem larger, and the entire layout gutted and redesigned.  In the master bedroom we added a bow bay window to the end wall and updated the bathroom as well.  The original exterior was quite dated and needed some help.  We changed out the windows in the front rooms and reconfigured the roof over the porte cochere to give the home a more rustic look.
